Clifton Sparrow

Having started in the financial services industry in Columbia South Carolina in 1994, Cliff Sparrow began as a captive agent. That means that he was at the will of his employer to sell their proprietary products and services even if they were not the best fit for a client. After 13 years in the business, Cliff came to the realization that he wanted to serve his clients in the most beneficial and advantageous manner that was conducive to their overall growth based on their specific needs and goals. Becoming independent allowed Cliff to provide products and services that best suited clients.

Cliff’s military background, with more than eight years of service in the United States Navy as an officer aboard several naval combatant ships, prepared him for not only comprehensive strategic planning but also the execution of those plans, a skill that he implements to this day with each client’s financial plan. Whether it’s creating a plan for someone charting a course for retirement, someone already on the course of retirement, or a family preparing for a child’s secondary education and beyond, Cliff has a vast array of knowledge and experience in these areas of financial planning.

Cliff is a native of Havelock, North Carolina. He and his wife moved back to her hometown of Columbus, Ohio to be closer to her family. Cliff and his wife have two sons, graduates of Ohio State and Ohio University/University of Memphis. In his spare time, Cliff’s passion lies in sharing his financial knowledge in various volunteer capacities as a business consultant, mentor, and teacher to elementary, middle school, and high school students through the Central Ohio region. He enjoys teaching them to embrace their financial futures so they can gain a sense of confidence as it relates to saving, investing, credit, money management, and basic life skills. Cliff is a former PTA president of a local high school and former board member of a University of North Carolina’s constituent – Winston-Salem State University’s Foundation Board. Cliff enjoys paying it forward using his skills and abilities in his communities.
